Travertine Restoration
This travertine floor in Pelham, Alabama had been covered with an acrylic sealer making the floor appear like VCT rather than stone. We had to grind that acrylic off and polish it to this high gloss.
Travertine Clarity
If a mirror like reflection is what you want from your stone then we are the ones to call to make that happen.
Before Travertine Inlay
This floor was laid by the home owner and you can see the uneven install.
After Travertine Inlay
Grinding the inlay had to be done by hand because they are only a quarter inch thick. Once we finished the hand work we were able to work the area with our floor machines. This 3500 square feet of travertine had quarter inch lippage across nearly half of the floor.
Before Travertine
This is a gloss finish right out of the box. The home owner laid the entire 3500 square feet of tile himself. Over half the floor had quarter inch lippage. We were charged with grinding the floor flat and then polishing it back up to a gloss.
After Travertine
It took three days with our 1000 pound grinder just to flatten the floor so we could start polishing it. Once that was done we spent two more days buttering the entire floor with travertine filler epoxy because of all of the pop-outs that occurred from the grinding. After all of that we were able to start polishing the floor. Now it really has a nice clear reflection.
